چکیده
Report SFB 124 15 / 92, December 1992 Abstract: The paper shows that characterizing the causal relationship between significant events is an important but non-trivial aspect for understanding the behavior of distributed programs. An introduction to the notion of causality and its relation to logical time is given; some fundamental results concerning the characterization of causality are presented. Recent work on the detection of causal relationships in distributed computations is surveyed. The relative merits and limitations of the different approaches are discussed, and their general feasibility is analyzed.

A Limitation of Vector Timestamps for Reconstructing Distributed Computations
Vector timestamps provide a way of recording the causal relationships between events in a distributed computation. We draw attention to a limitation of such timestamps when used to reconstruct computations in which message overtaking occurred.

Introduction: The large body of research, from theorizing to empirical findings, suggests that positive cognitive Re-evaluation of trauma may further support positive post-traumatic outcomes by enhancing post-traumatic growth. The aim of this study was to investigate the direct and indirect role coping strategies, core beliefs disruption, social support, spirituality, religious cope and intrusi...
متن کاملMethodology of Realist Review in the Health System
Background and Aim: The realist review has been introduced to review and synthesize the evidence related to the implementation of complex healthcare interventions. This method interprets the results of an intervention by explaining the causal relationships between the intervention and the results. This study aimed to explain the methodology of realist review in the health system. Materials and...
متن کاملPreventing denial and forgery of causal relationships in distributed systems
In a distributed system, it is often important to detect the causal relationships between events, where event e 1 is causally before event e 2 if e 1 happened before e 2 and could possibly have aaected the occurrence of e 2. In this paper we argue that detecting causal relationships among events can be important for security, in the sense that it may be essential to the correct implementation o...
متن کاملInvestigating causal linkages and strategic mapping in the balanced scorecard: A case study approach in the banking industry sector
One of the main challenges of strategic management is implementing the strategies. Designing the strategy map in Balanced Scorecard framework to determine the causality between strategic objectives is one of the most important issues in implementing the strategies. In designing the strategy map with intuition and judgment, the link between strategic objectives is not clear and it is not obvious...
